Residents Seek Retaining Wall Before the Rainy Season

Residents Seek Repair Works At the Earliest before Rainy Season Thoubal, 6th April 2022: Residents between Moijing and Khekman Khul have sought the attention of the authorities concerned to take up repair works at the retaining wall on the bank of the Thoubal River. The retaining walls have been submerged and stand really in a dilapidated condition in between Moijing and Khekman. The residents are terrified and worried if any disaster would come out of the retaining wall. Md.Nasir Hussain, Member-Moijing Gram Panchayat Ward no. 2, along with media persons, visited the site where the retaining wall stands decrepit. It might fall anytime and create a whole disaster. MI Road better known as Khongkak is about 150 meters and is badly damaged since the wall is submerged and stands inclined. The region has frequent inundation. The badly damaged wall is a cause of concern for the farmers now. So, the residents have sought intervention from the Water Resource Department and the government of Manipur to take up repairing at the earliest before the rainy season comes to prevent any unlikely accident due to the fall of the retaining wall.
